I find it hard during the day to get all the protein I need. I take protein shakes and try to eat a lot of chicken. But it is hard to find time to do the cooking. Do you have any recommendations on things that I could take to go, or eat on breaks during work that doesn't require cooking.

Tuna is usually a good thing that some people use.. lots of protien and in a small can.. make a sandwhich out of it or maybe with some crackers.. I don't eat tuna so i'm not really full of too many ideas for it.. You could look for a thread called 'Tuna' which was recently up..

You can also peruse the forum about supplements as there are tons of topics on protein.

If you're not a big fan of tuna (like me), try canned chicken. You can make a sandwich or just drain the water and add BBQ sauce for a good snack. I like the bigger 12oz cans - 70 grams of protein in one can. I usually split it up into 2 'meals' and I eat it with a potato or some pasta and veggies.

Cottage cheese doubles are good and portable, there's also yogurt, and meal replacement bars, and...um I'll keep thinking.

What?!! Canned chicken?!!!!!! never heard about that one before....... geeez it must be another American thing......
Anyway, boil some eggs and take them with you everywhere. And what about soy seeds and almonds.... Good fat, some proteins and fibre.

I despise tuna, but find that if you mix a can of tuna with a couple of egg whites and make it into a patty, then fry it in a non-stick pan and kill it with mustard, that it's almost bearable..... I also cook up a family pack of chicken so that I'm not cooking all the time - then you can just make your meals as you need them. Lean steak is also a good source of protein.....

Eggs? Take em with you? YUK! Stick to the canned tuna, add it to a low fat mac n cheese frozen entree (healthy choice ect), or the chicken. You can buy a bag of frozen chicken breasts and cook the entire bag, season them with Mrs. Dash, and package for the week. I cook mine in my Foreman grill! Its a lean mean grillin machine!

it depends on what you are trying to achieve. if your lifting some seriously heavy weight and your trying to build muscle then you should be eating about 1.5 grams of protein for every 2.2 pounds of weight. but this is not the case for the MAJORITY of people that work out. al yo need to do is make sure that 12 to 15% of your total calories comes from protein, anything else just turns into fat.
