Justin,
Yea for you! I joined the Army Nat'l Guard when I was a junior in high school. Basic was easy for me - but I owe it to 7th period weight training and volley ball. I went to basic during the summer at Ft. Jackson after my junior year.

Looking back, I swore I'd never get out of shape. That those early morning wake ups and p.t. would keep me going. HA, once college started and stress, here I am overweight. BUT don't let that discourage you - it's my fault.

For basic training, a whole lot of push up and sit ups. Even some cardio training would be good so you can do the runs in the morning too! I remember doing PT in the morning and sometimes doing the circuit - that was fun.

Oh I forgot, each morning before showering I would also tuck my toes under my bathroom door and do a bunch of situps. I think that helped though my weakness was situps and kicked butt on the pushups.

Well, best of luck to you! :) Not sure if I helped any but I can tell you a whole lot of pushups in Basic either at your expense or someone else. And situps, well, have to do those to pass the pt test.

Take care,
Wendy
