I use my glider faithfully 20 minutes or more at a good rate and would like to know if anyone has any input on these machines? I combine 20 minutes on glider followed by 20 minutes boxing and 20 minutes weight lifting-one day faster reps for cardio and every other day slower for muscle. But, if this glider is useless I don't want to waste my time. I would appreciate some information, thank you very much!

I don't personally use a glider, however, if it is getting your heart rate up and sustaining it than it is doing its job. The main concern is that it is not making your joints move in an uncomfortable or unnatural manner. As long as you are not experiencing joint pain after using it, I say go for it.

Alternate your cardio and weightlifting days or do the weightlifting first.

daniel is right, though, if it is getting your heart rate up and it is work for you to do it, than it is cardio!

Yepper, I make sure my heartrate is where I need it to lose some calories, and it is not uncomfortable, so I guess I'm alright there. As far as the weightlifting, asimmer, you said to do it before, could you tell me the benefits to that? I remember from my "old gym days" doing them every other and then my trainer said I could do one day cardio and weight lifting with faster reps as that was a good cardio also and the following day weight lifting with slower, more concentrated breathing reps - is that ok? Right now my concern is to work this body in whatever way I will see results, even as minute as they may be, as soon as possible to avoid total frustration! You both certainly seem to know what your doing!!:) Thank you!

The glider will burn some calories. Great apparatus.

read the post on cardio, it explains why you should do cardio on alternate days or after lifting.
