hey all, I'm a college student and over first semester was doing very well with my strength and size, but when i ent home for winter break for a month i started to continuosly lose strength and even some weight( 4 to five pounds). its pretty drastic too, the weight iused to be able to bench 6 times, i can only get four times now, and what i could squat 10 times i can only get 7 or 8. my diet did go to hell when i went home, and my sleep wasnt that great, but i didnt party much at all ( only new years) my workouts stayed pretty consistent with what i had been doing, but i didnt have my partner there with me. And since im airly advanced that strength that i lost took a long time to gain. I've been back at school for a week and a half now and have been eating good again, but im still where i was at the end of the break. Would diet and rest make that big of a difference? is it normal and would it take a while to get back or should it start coming back soon? anyone else ever go through this? I guess im just worried...

You may have over-exerted yourself during your break...even though its time to relax, its also time to hang with friends and not have a set schedule. This can throw your body off. Also, not having a partner(when thats what you're used to) can force you to go lighter with forced reps because there isn't someone there to spot you. I wouldn't worry too much about this minor set-back. I would suggest to just get back into that pattern you had before your break and everything should fall into place. Give it some time... Good luck.
