Hello all. I have a question for you in the area of proper nutrition. But first a little background. I am being deployed to Iraq again and this time I want to make the most of my time there with regards to my health, fitness, overall body composition. I have been lifting weights and excersising for a while now. But very sporatically. I go for awhile, then quit for awhile, so on and so on. I am 33 and have found myself to be in the worst shape of my life. I plan to change that while I am gone. I have an image in my head of what I expect from myself upon my arrival back to the states. I have been reading a lot of articles on nutrition as well as posts on this site. Now, for my question: I won't have access to 6 meals a day while away. I will have a chow hall that I can eat at for three meals a day. I know how vital nutrition is to overall health and conditioning and am wanting some suggestions as to how to eat right given the lack of availability of food. I am trying to lose fat and put on muscle, so I need alot of protein and good stuff, just aren't sure how to get it. Should I supplement with protein shakes and granola bars, that type of thing? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
