I believe that a Gold's Gym membership runs pretty steep...i know that my local Y is around 300-400 dollars for an adult i would imagine that a Gold's Gym one would be a little pricier.

I'm in Charlotte, NC. My membership to Golds was a $50 deposit and $39 a month for a year. That includes everything, aerobics, kickboxing, etc, but the tanning beds are extra. You can do just monthly but it was a good bit more. The one thing is make sure the whatever gym you choose, that is has been there for a while before you pay too much up front. There was a gym here locally that went belly up and did not give any refunds to people that paid a year in full, $500. Glad I wasn't one of them.

Im at golds gym in Enfield CT and you can get around the membership fee if you tell them you are transfering from another gym...which was what i did i trasfered but didn't want to pay the sign up fee of 100 or so and its like 300 a year actually if you want the year and its like 20 bucks a month if you do monthly ... but Connecticut just put on a fitness tax (go figure don't move here) so its more to work out in CT than it would be in other states.

I belong to Golds in Minnesota. I paid a processing fee of $49.00 and $29/month for a year. They have promotions going on every 3 months. Your best bet is to just stop in and talk to someone.

I got in on a family discount for $250 for 13 months (had to pay for the year up front). Golds wants to sell memberships. If you let them know their current deal isn't good enough for you, they may give you a better one.

Of course, first you'd have to know what that current deal is... strange that they won't tell you.
