alrighty, I got some whey protein, but I need advice as to when and how often I should take it.
Here is how things go for me,
I lift on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
Run Tuesday and Thursday
And rest on Saturday and Sunday (except for some situps, pushups and a few light weight arm excercises)
Now, should I be taking it everyday? Or just on the days I lift and/or run? And how many times a day should I be taking it? The instructions say to take it 4 times a day. One scoop with breakfast, another before lifting, a third after, and one before bed. but I don't think I will be able to take one right before lifting because of school being right before I lift. So any advice as to this? Any help (the sooner the better) would be appreciated.

Depends on how much protein you are getting in otherwise.
After lifting is going to be the most beneficial time to use a fast absorbing protein powder. And before bed it is good to get some protein into your system, but a mixture of whey and casein would be more ideal.
If you aren't eating enough protein with breakfast, supplementing with a scoop would be okay then. Figure out which is cheaper - egg whites or the powder and then decide whether you have time for egg whites, or if the protein powder is a better plan. I like protein powder mixed into cereal or oatmeal (after it has cooled) as a quicl and easy breakfast.
Before you lift , at least an hour before, you need some fuel. Carbs and protein. Bring a cup to mix some protein in and have a slice of bread and an apple or something with it (trying to think of portable and easy to eat items).
Good luck!
