I have to brag! My baby is such a strong motivated child who is very well centered and I love her and am so proud of her! How many parents get outstanding acknowledges like this about their child?
Okay history, Gabbie has had Mr. Borst for the last three years of her junior high school years, he has seen her through a lot in those years and he has had a huge impact on her life. The best teacher I have ever seen in all of my kids education! Anyhow I was supposed to be going to a field trip this Thursday, but due to required training I had to cancel, so I sent him an email canceling but also thanking him for being such a strong influence in my child's life. Okay, okay..well this was his response:
Hi... I talked to the school's banker or whatever she's
called... the $13 was transferred to the JA field trip; we have a number
of refunds in the works, and I'll let you know when she can pick up the $2
check.
Don
P.S. Thanks for the note -- that's one of the nicest things anyone has
ever expressed to me! She's been wonderful to have in class ... it's been
fun seeing her go through some of these phases, always with at least one
very solid foot on the ground.
Often, I see kids stay on the straight-and-narrow (some would say robotic
-- that's certainly not Gabbie), or others who become a pain in the butt
(never her!)... and others who just sorta slip under the radar and you
almost forget they're there (uh... NOT Gabriella Torres). Then there are
those special kids -- ones who are stretching their envelopes a bit as
they're growing up, but always seem to have a very strong center -- she's
certainly that! Most of all, she still seems to be proud of the fact that
she's smart: Too many girls forget that somewhere around the 7th-8th
grade, and that's something that we should really be happy about. She's
been a very good influence on some other girls that way. You have many
reasons to be proud. She's going to have a great high school experience.

I think the teacher has the hots for you Bettia.....Just kidding!!!
That is cool. Every now and then we think we are too tough on our kids, but when we get feedback from teachers about how good they are, it makes us feel better about having to be Mom and Dad when we'd rather just have fun with them :)

No conan, I think it's more admiration if anything, it is sad to see how many parents don't even know or have never seen their children's students.
I have always played an active role in my childrens education, was PTA President for 5 years with my first three so I practically lived at the school. When I couldn't do that anymore due to divorce, I still was active and participated in as many school activities as I could in fact, I wouldn't take a job unless they gave me required time off to do so.
Yes it is fun to have a balst with your kids, I still do that numerous times throughout the day, although recently it has been more on account of them picking on me..LOL.
But I love being a parent to them, I find myself grateful and lucky to have had them in my life, I honestly don't know where I would've been without them, especially the Goober Gabbie!:)
