Is there any major problem with sipping on Green Tea and Honey throughout the day?

I am trying to get off coffee, and found that having tea available to me is helping, but I am drinking more tea than I would coffee. Nothing like 12 cups a day or anything, but maybe 3 - 5. Any input ?

I like the green tea supplements...but if you're trying to get off the coffee seems like a good alternate...as long as your counting the honey into your daily caloric intake.

Much better than coffee considering the anti oxident effect.
The lighter the leaves the better it is as it is less roasted, and retains more of the enzymes.

Thanks guys. I am not worried about my caloric intake. I will consider myself the male version of a tea granny and see where it takes me.

I drink both green and white tea (leaves or gun powder form) plain

apparently white has less caffeine and it does taste better my wife prefers it over the green tea

Yes, white has less of a 'grassy' taste. Nice an light. All tea comes from the same leaves, it is the amount of processing/fermentation that determines the type. White is the least fermented, therefore the lightest. I personally am still hooked on green tea, but occasionally do white for a change. Haven't seen many studies to date on white tea, but tons on green tea. White is naturally less caffinated though.

i was drinking a few cups a day of ginseng (bought it loose and brewed it myself) a year ago and there was a noticable difference in my level of endurance in the gym and my energy levels throughout the day. i was not on such a large diet then as i am now though and since im always stuffed now theres no room for tea.

i also will somteimtes drink a combination of skullcap, valerian root, damiana, and chamomoile to help the Z's come easier.

i know its kinda off topic caz its not green tea, but its tea, and theres a lot of benefical effects from many differnt types so i figured id write what ive experienced. a lot of teas, especially hibisicis and rose hips, has loads of vitamin C as well.

Ive read a bit about the rose hips stuff, but not a ton about skullcap etc. Sounds almost like a can of worms not to open unless I am interested in taking my tea drinking to another level. Thanks man.

Yeah, Valerian root for instance is reknowned for its help with sleep issues. Be warned, the tea is nasty though.

Try drinking two or more cups of tea. A new study from Sweeden concluded that tea can help reduce your risk of ovarian cancer by 46%, possibly because of all the antioxidants found in tea. Want to keep your heart healthy? Tea has been found to help reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke, and to lower high cholesterol. Drinking tea will also help you recover faster, if you do have a heart attack.

What do you think aboout green tea pills instead of the regular liquid? Do they both work the same or would you suggest one over the other and if so, why? Thanks.

Green tea capsules are usually very concentrated. There is nothing wrong with them in most cases.

Less, in fact green tea though it has some caffine, also contains an amino acid L-Theanine. This is actually a 'relaxant' naturally, and good for brain funcion.(An alert yet relaxed state of mind without drowsiness) if that makes sense. Great stuff.
