Hello,

I am a new member to this site. I am currently needing to lose weight for health reasons. I used to weigh a healthy weight when I was in Puerto Rico. Here in Wisconsin, during the winter months, its so hard to stay active. Finally, I joined a gym recently and have decided to make the gym a part of my life. I am close to being diagnosed with Diabetes and seeing my family has a history with it, I decided to lose weight and be as far as can be to Diabetes. The doctor told me I need to lose 72 pounds and then after that, I should set my own goal... So, I am looking forward to good advice from these columns and learning from others experiences. :)

Sincerely,
Marita

Hi Marita and welcome aboard. 72 pounds is alot to loose in a short period of time. Not sure if you've heard or tried weight watchers, but it actually works. I tried it in 2007 and was on my way to a size 16. I stopped it in 2009 and handled it on my own and are now a size 10. I'm trying to loose 30 pounds because I recently had surgery and gained the weight during recovery, but I am confident I can get it back off with what I've learned from weight watchers.

Hi Marita! I completely agree with mrstorrey! I have been on Weight Watchers since September 20th/2010 and from then till Christmas I lost 50 pounds and 22 inches! It is the easiest program I've ever used for nutrition. I have type 1 diabetes and trust me when I say it's not fun! Lol. I'm proud of you for taking action - good for you! If you ever wanna chat, leave me a message!
