Well, in the past I have posted earlier, this time though I am posting only 10 days out from my competition, and am extemely excited about this one. Have my game plan down to a "T" even moreso than other times(you learn from each), and feel by far and away in my total best condition. I am happy with the way I have steadily progressed since my last comp in March, would venture to guess I achieved my goal of being at least 2% leaner. I have veins showing I didn't know existed in the human body!! LOL...If I don't blow it in the final days(carb deplete/load), I should be rock solid and pretty darned ripped. Looking forward to a very high placing, 1st would be nice...thanks to all for support and will post results and pictures(good ones this time), when it is over. So, wish me luck, and with a bit of it I may just achieve my dream of a 1st place. I have to take this opportunity too to publicly thank my wife, she has stuck by me with all the mood swings and craziness that goes with this sport. Big time payback when I am done. Thanks all again....-------------- As far as genetics go, the skies the limit. You are limited only by your mental perception of it. Ron |

Hey, bb1, what do you do with your carbs the day of or the day before a contest. I think I read somewhere that bodybuilders generally look fuller the day after the competition, after their carb binges. Is that true in your experience? I can't remember where I read that . . .-------------- "Don't follow leaders and watch your parking meters!" -- Bob Dylan |

Yes, unfortunateley everyone usually looks better the day or 2 the show. One reason is cortisol levels are completely down. Your body has rested. Glycogen is absorbed at different rates with each person, so that is why timing is so very important, so you don't come in flat, yet you don't spill over either. It is a tricky thing to do to come in at perfect timing. The idea of the carb binge is to literally blow up the muscle like blowing up a balloon. YOu are "flat" from carb depleteing, and with each carb day, you are literally attempting to put a little more air(glycogen) into the muscle. If you overdo it and do too much, then spillover occurs, and you look bulky and lose all the cuts you worked so hard to attain. I hope this is what you were asking me.-------------- As far as genetics go, the skies the limit. You are limited only by your mental perception of it. Ron |
