Hello,
Recently, I strained my left hamstring while training with my tae kwon do club. This was almost a week ago, and I still feel the strain when I walk or bend down. I've done the RICE, anti-inflamatories, and haven't been back to the club since. Prior to this, my hip flexors seemed extremely tight, which may have cause the hamstring strain.

My concern lies in long term rehab; seeing as I'm relatively new to tae kwon do, I'm eager to continue to pratice, but I don't want a permanent, chronic injury.
I have a physio apt in a few days, and I'm considering seeing a chiropracter for an assesment and possible treatment. Massage therapy is also a regular part of my lifestyle.
Any insight, advice, or experience from others would be more than welcome. Being out-of-commision seems to stress me out greatly, and I'd like to do everything I can to speed the healing.
Thanks!

There is no speed to recovery. You need take the time to heal. A hamstring injury could very much cause you long term difficulty if you continue to train. I know this is not what you want to hear, however take it from someone who has had a simular injury. IF you do train, don't be doing the high kicks, etc. Take the time and heal properly, or you will be going for long term therapy for the injury. Rest is the only healing.

Lay off stretching for a little while. Also, if you do leg curls, do them fast because a slow eccentric contraction will make it worse.
