BOO! I came into work today and there are 7 lovely little halloween treat bags on my desk! I've already stashed them in my desk so I won't be tempted...didn't even attempt to look inside the bags, but maybe I should, maybe there just full of little carrots..you never know..! I'm going to take them home and hand them out tonight!!

Happy All Hallow's Eve, everyone! I had my party last night, and will scare the bahjeebies out of the parents (and a few kids) tonight. Turning my entire backyard into a mini-version of Disney's Haunted Mansion; music and all!
Damn, I spend waaaaaaaaayy too much money on a holiday that is only 6 hours long!

Everyone go have fun tonight!

Yeah well each year I want to dress up like a gorllia and hide by the side of the house then come roaring out like a silver back would ( i make a great impersonation of one). My wife nixs that each time.

When I consider the short duration of my life, swallowed up in the eternity before and after, the little space which I fill and even can see, engulfed in the infinite immensity of spaces of which I am ignorant and which know me not, I am frightened and am astonished at being here rather than there; for there is no reason why here rather than there, why now rather than then. Who has put me here? By whose order and direction have this place and time been allotted to me? The eternal silence of these infinite spaces frightens me.

So my darling husband calls a few minutes ago to see what I'm up to..among other things I'm trying to put a costume together...he says he knows what he's going to be...he has this mask that has this huge open mouth..the mouth is actually a screen where your face goes,so the mouth would be the size of your whole face, with these bulging eyeballs on top..he says he's going to wear that and my bath robe and slippers and be ME in the morning....what a punk...I don't know where I found this guy...but I told him I was gonna go put him back!!!

Yeah, I'll have to hit the treadmill tomorrow, but hey some candy and a cup cake isn't going to throw me back none as clean as I keep my diet all year round!

I think this is a total French benefit of being into fitness, if your really true to yourself and stay strong a holiday can't hurt you and you can enjoy them without guilt!

I see it all the time the people starving them selves or doing the crash cardio to get through a holiday. As bb1fit always puts it, it take 3500 calories to put on a pound and I'm not even on a holiday going to do that!

Don't stress don't fret we who stay on top of ourselves can have that holiday treat, I do and always will because I know I'm not going to spike up 5% of body fat off 1 cup cake and a couple candies.

Cardio tomorrow is because it's a lifting day off and I hit the gym hard today in weights!

Remember injoy life and take a holiday, we work hard everyday just about on our fitness goals and your not going to hurt yourself just control yourself. Your going to have to ban Pumkin Pie next month to stop me from having a slice.

Just look at it this way, we didn't reach goals we have set without holidays in the past, I personally dropped 55 pounds in a year and still enjoyed my holidays because I live my fitness not just talk it!

Any how all I just wanted to say that with the biggest holidays yet to come in the next 2 months, enjoy them and don't be afraid of them, we work real hard and have trained our minds to handle them and 1 slice of pie won't put you back 5 pounds!

Maybe 1 of our member like the Mods here can make a great post about this time of year in another thread since they have see years go by and have their holidays and goals too, I know alot of people will need it just to stay sane!

Savoured a few items here. One (it was large though) sugar cookie, about ten Cheezies (I don't need anymore of those for about a year) and two mini Crispy Crunches.

It's still early though.

I had NO CANDY last night. None. Nor did I paint the tummy orange. I think I subconsiously boycotted Halloween.

KC, you probably weren't as bad as you think. And besides, today is a new day, and you get to start over fresh!

well...thanks manny...but it was pretty bad...so I'll take advantage of my fifth ammendment right if anybody asks...

I have a question...did anybody else notice there was alot of kids not in costume???Not just the teenagers...but little ones as well???maybe it was just my neighborhood...at first there were alot of kids...but I could see there parents kind of hanging back...and they were muslim,so I thought it may be part of their religion..but then all kinds of others started showing up...I don't remember it being like that.

And also...what was your favorite costume last night???mine was this kid that was probablly about 14..he walks up with this big pimp daddy hat on...and he smiles real big and says he's the king of bling...he has his teeth wrapped in tin foil...it was hilarious!!!!

It's been like that in my neighborhood for years. Mostly kids 8 and up go door to door without costumes and just hold open their plastic grocery bag. That's the reason we stoped handing out candy. Kind of sucks the fun right out of it. now I feel bad for the few that do dress up.

By the way. I did not have ANY candy or treats yesterday:big_smile: and let me tell you I was so tempted I could almost tast it.

My favorite was a kid dressed up like a tree. It was a homemade costume (rare these days) with his body wrapped in a tube and branches stuck to his head. My daughter made her own costume-she's 12, she was a dark fairy with huge black wings lined with a purple feather boa (no she didn't get it from me!) a black tutu (again-not mine) black body suit and purple eye makeup and sequins on her face...very cool!

I too avoided all candy, but I'm most impressed with you Manny, knowing your love of chocolate!! Unfortunately we didn't get as many kids as I expected so I have a ton of those mini chocolate bars left over....I think I'll put them away for our company kids christmas party!

My favorite was the tot that crawled up my front steps - he was all in camo, his older sister pipes up 'he's an army guy!', I guess the crawl was apropo..

Lots of older kids, no costumes. I have taken to challenging them with "What are you supposed to be?" They look taken aback and usually stutter.... get a costume, man!

KC - what did you do? I resisted all that candy and then we went over to the in-laws for pumpkin pie, which I resisted...and they had the kitkat/whoppers/reese's pb cups with caramel...very tempting. My husband was drinking beer and eating chocolate and ate my pie. I have to admit i didn't feel so bad for him when he felt ill this morning.:surprised:

oh....I know what your talking about....I'm not a big pork fan...When my husband and i were dating he took me to a BBQ...i have my plate and I'm moving along in line chit chatting...and we get to the BBQ pit...and there is this big giant pig sitting there..people are just ripping the meat out of its sides...it was horrifying for me...so I've not been able to eat pork since then...

anyway...the cookie is the connection????OK...I suppose...kind of a weak link though in my opinion...:laugh:
