Nope not going to either, never have, never been registered either.

Sadly, I didn't vote this year. For some reason unbeknownst to me, they didn't send me my ballot. I think they may have sent it Grandma's house. If they did, it was probably shredded. :(

Nope, I just WILL not vote for assholes and you CAN not tell me that any candiate is worth voting into office. ANd why is it terrible? THis is a free country and I can say and do what I like. I feel that by voting I am giving my approval for crooks, cheats, morally corrupt people to be in charge. Until I feel like a person is none of the above, I will not vote.

Depends on the state...in california they pull the names from DMV...so unless you want to give up your driving priveledges along with your voting priveledges...it won't matter.

I got called for jury duty in ca. once...one guy got on the stand and said it was against his religion to judge another human being, therefore he could not serve,he was excused...6 people after him said the same thing before the judge put a stop to it...pretty funny.

Mutt, what about voting for ballot measures? Just curious. Can you vote on certain things and not others and will they still accept it? Obviously I haven't been voting for very long lol.

The thing I hate about voting is that I'm a republican, and my inlaws are democrats. They make it so uncomfortable to talk about political issues. They also only vote their party line, and are teaching their youngest to do the same. I vote for who/what I feel is best whether it goes with my party or not.

Ok, I'm done ranting now lol.

I have to admit..I haven't been voting long...only the last 4 years...being over seas it really hit home for me how important it was to exercise my right to vote...I decided to not take for granted that right.I'm not a terribly political person...I have certain views that I feel are important to me and my family. So I tend to vote democratic..only because I tend to see things more along those lines...

Voting is a powerful thing...we tend to think our one little vote doesn't make a difference..for me it's just that I have the RIGHT to that moves me to vote.

woah....how did I miss that...thats pretty volotile...yep it's a free country...so NO...you don't have to vote...it's just my personal opinion that if you choose not to vote...you don't then have the right to complain about how everybody in office are a**holes..you didn't vote to put them there or not...New York alone has had some very good and strong leaders.Yes politics are ugly...but if we ALL gave up like you mutt...well then where would we be???

KC who says I gave up? I just do not see the value of each election voting the same type of people in office over and over. Kind of reminds me of hamsters on a wheel. I mean eveyone says that I HAVE to vote it is my right. Cool I can dig that, but what I do not get is that these susposed intelligent people (that is how the ones that vote are always cast) vote the same cheater, liers, back stabbing, stealing waste of human DNA into office. I will not vote for some one that says "I will nto raise taxes" then after getting elected into office he/she does. BECAUSE they have to, that is what makes and runs thei country. ALL I want is someone to stand up and say " Hey it is not going to be easy it iwllbe hard we will have to sacriface but we will see a better future" and then go and do just that. Instead they "campaign" which really means " i will say and do anyhting that gets the masses to vote for me". Hell Congress had 97 working days in 2 years That means they got paid for 640 days off. How is that right?
Sorry to get on my soap box but here is another reason i will not vote.
Take the Presdient, you vote for a canidate right? But most do not know that unless the electoral College vots that one into office it means nothing. Until my vote actually counts why waste it?

Well...I do usually vote, but I don't feel I am knowledgeable enough about who and what is on the ballot this time, so I won't today. My bf will...and he's pretty conservative. I am a registered democrat. I let him rant and keep my mouth shut. My kids are all democrats like their dad. I was really proud of my 18 year old. In the last couple of months he's finished high school (yeah, a few months late), stopped smoking pot, ditched his pot smoking friends, cut his hair and has thoroughly educated himself on the issues and is excited about voting today. Like he grew up all at once. So, he's replacing me as a voter this year, how's that?

I think thats great Kathy!!

Mutt...now first you know this is a healthy debate...we're friends so I can disagree with you..and you can disagree with me...and we are still friends.I agree with what your saying...most of the politicians are creeps..but not all.I think thats so negative..it's depressing. They aren't ALL bastards mutt....there are many people trying to do alot of good...but like I said...I am just grateful that I DO have the right to vote...my vote may mean nothing..to you..in the way you look at things...to me it feels good to vote.

I voted for President Bush...do I agree with everything he does ...um...no...but as a military family we recieved more raises and more benefits while he has been in office than we did with Clinton. This is just MY opinion...I'm sure there are service members and their families that despise Bush...but for ME..it was the right choice.I'm sure you will not agree with me mutt....BUT...until YOU VOTE at least once...how do you feel you're opinion is worth standing on a soap box about...Are politicians perfect...no...is anybody or anything perfect...no...such is the beauty of life.So...if you believe ALL candidates to be worthless human beings...why not get out there and do something about it...why leave it for children and your childrens children to fix...get out there...make changes...if ALL the poloticians are corrupt...there will truely be NOTHING for your children..so as their father you better step up to the plate...

I see this opinion as an excuse to not take the time to go out and register to vote...and then make it the polls...I see it as an excuse...because it used to be MY excuse Mutt.

Well....OK...I suppose this is why we aren't supposed to talk about politics.

LOL no this is fun. YOu have that right to go out and vote. I have the right not to. It is simple, I do not say any gain for me by voting or not voting, therefore i choose not to. That is all

I can totally see where Mutt's coming from. It is VERY discouraging to see the same type of people in office every year. It's hard not to start thinking "Things are just going to stay the same so why bother?" I guess though, if we don't bother, things truly will never change.

One thing my husband and I both agree on, is that the median age of everyone in office is just plain too old. We need some young "idealistic" candidates who just might fight for what they believe and do what they say instead of doing what's safe or expected like some of the older ones do.

Ok....I need a cookie..typing has made me tired narf.

I voted today. We had an in-office thing.

My wife received a registration in the mail for the last Federal Election here in Canada. She's American.

I vote in every Federal, Provincial and Municipal election I can here. It's what my grandfather and everybody elses fought for.

The idea to vote was given to us to pull us together as countrymen...it seems to have torn us apart...it will be my prayer...that the original idea of democracy is soon relived.

KC, I'm not so sure democracy is about getting along and having the warm fuzzys. If that ever happens, look out because at least half the voters have been drugged or brainwashed. The system works best when the parties fight like two cats with their tails tied together tossed over a clothsline.

Ivan, you missed nothing...ssdd

Not to change the subject...which apparently I 'm good for BUT...when we were stationed in Spain it was very common for women to be topless on the beach...so I was there with my husband and we're joking around about it and he dares me to take off my top..and I did...and it was fun for about 5 minutes...until one of his friends came by..then stopped to say hello...I could have died...NEVER again!!!!!

I dont believe that I am about to say this but...I do not vote, just like Mutt. Never have and may never vote. I dont vote for slightly different reasons though. Alot of the politicians are crooks and are awful but some are not. Here is the problem - even if someone(from either party) went into office to make changes that are correct and just for the people, they will not be able to do it. Republicans will disagree with dems and dems will disagree with reps just because. It appears that no matter what the issue they will disagree with each other because one is rep and one is dem. By the time they agree and vote, any proposal is so watered down to appease both sides, it is useless. The way to get me to vote would be for someone to have these values (I know that I will get hammered for some but what the hay)
1. If someone commits cold blooded murder without any doubt, they should be sentenced to die and die very soon. Not 20 yrs down the line but 1 yr max. Now these would have to be slam dunk cases. There are alot out there. The way of capital punishment is ok with lethal injection and if it hurts them alittle, sorry you should not have killed someone. The victim did not get that consideration
2. ALL child molesters should get a large tattoo on their forehead that lets everyone know that is what they are. We will never have to worry about people not knowing. You would be able to protect your children from these people. Some people will say that violates their rights. Well, i say you give up that right when you molest a child. Same applys to raptists.
I have several more views but I will let everyone chew on those 2 for now.

And KC did your husbands friend at least give you a couple of $1 for the show?

And no tiger...no $1...he was as embarrassed as me...we were both trying to act like everything is normal while I casually(and red faced)put my top back on...the only one who got a kick out of it was my husband...the twit!!!!
