I love drinking warm things, and so when i drink my whey protein after workouts, or before I go to sleep or whenever, I heat up the water and then mix in the whey...Does this make a difference in the effect the whey does to me? In the directions it says to mix it in with ice cold water or milk or your favorite drink or whatever. Can I still drink it like the way I drink it? What is better?

No it's fine to warm the water before you put the whey in. Don't worry about it

if the water is too hot it can denature the protein. i don't think i would take this risk, especially post-workout when getting adequate protein is critical for your body and its recovery. it's like putting whey in your oatmeal - you have to wait for the oatmeal to cool if you want the whey to be fully effective. same principle applies here.

so what happens to the protein when it denatures? Does it disappear? So does that mean that the calories disappear also? Does that mean that I won't be getting the same calories in me? I don't think so...I didn't really think that it would matter, does anybody else have any opinions or facts?

before you shoot your mouth off, i suggest you understand what "denature" means. i won't start listing my chemistry credentials for you, but at 15 you probably haven't had even basic chemistry and you don't understand that when you heat protein, you completely change the structure and function of the enzyme. if you completely break down what you are putting into your body, what is the point of taking it in the first place?
the caloric content of what you are consuming post-workout is secondary to the protein content. maintaining a positive nitrogen balance is essential in muscle growth and recovery, and you won't reach that unless you are consuming enough protein, which you won't be consuming at all if you completely denature it.
i'll be back with more facts and articles. in the mean time, i hope bb1 surfaces to back me up.

one thing i already notice that i have left out:
when you denature whey protein, the chemical bonds break apart and reform, altering the digestive qualities of the supplement - specifically, it's not going to digest as quickly as it should.
in post-workout nutrition, getting protein digested QUICKLY is key. this is why we mix our whey with water instead of milk. why? because milk slows the absorption of the whey. again, in regard to denaturing the whey, why would you want to risk inhibiting the fast absorption of the protein?

Heat will in fact denature whey protein. Try Optimum Nutrition 100% Any whey. It is formulated for high heat. It is virtually tasteless.

But it's not bad to heat any other time other than post workout correct?....Such as before bed or in the evening

Heating whey protein any time is not a good idea. As mentioned, if you are going to do this, use the type I mentioned. You can even cook with it...we make protein cakes and bars and stuff all the time with it.
