Bowers is right. Personally I have observed that Low motivation, accumulated body fat, bad self image, is a vicious cycle. Keeps repeating itself. You have to break the cycle somewhere or it will continue. The best motivation for me is enjoyment and results. The hardest part of a diet/ exercise program is the first 3-4 weeks. If you would make a commitment to follow a structured diet and exercise plan for 4 weeks you will see some results that motivates you to continue. Also it takes that long to be comfortable with the exercises and begin to get satisfaction out of your workout. Just my thoughts. Good Luck

yes, it is a vicious cycle.
thank you. I needed to hear that! I dont want health problems later down the road, and i also needed to know that it will only be hard for 3-4 weeks and after that it will be easier.

With regard to it 'being easier' I meant in terms of motivation. I say this because there is no doubt someone will post with a contrary view. It was indeed easier for me simply for the fact that I began to see results and because I really began to enjoy my workouts. I felt as if I had accomplished something and I finally felt more in control of a lifestyle that I had let go to the point of controlling me. Although I am no expert on exercise and fitness as many in this community undoubtably are, I do know something about psychology and increasing my level of
fitness has given my self esteem and self image a tremendous boost. Confidence-that in itself is worth a million bucks. Good Luck and I hope to hear of your successes in the future.
