I am new to this site and looking for a lot of motivation. I have three main goals that I am working on.

running 2 miles in 15 minutes
doing 50 pushups in 2 minutes
doing 85 situps in 2 minutes

I am in the military and these are my max goals for my age and height

I am also looking to participate in a firness competition in the future.

Please if you have similar goals, answer back.

shavondebrown, first off are you male or female, hard to tell without a profile. I question your numbers if your in the military if your a male thats a little low for a push up and run goal. The minimum PT test score for push up depending on age is around 40 or so. And the run is a little slow. However if your a female these are pretty decent goals. Any how, what are your current standings on these events? If your trying to increase your push-ups, I would recommend doing close hand push ups. I originally had problems with my push ups years ago and I used to wake up every morning and do 25 close hands push ups. And then periodically throughout the day I would do 25 close hands, and finally I would rap the night up with 25 close handed push ups. Close handed builds the triceps, once you improve your tricep strength the numbers will come. Running, well the best way to improve your run is to run. Find a partner, if possible who is a better and faster runner and have them push you, eventually you'll improve to where you can run faster longer. Sit ups come with doing sit ups, enough said.

I am a female. I am running a 17:30. I was barely passsing when I started. Push-ups come pretty easy. I never do below 30, even if I hadn't trained. Now, sit-ups are the killer. My last Pt test I passed withthe exact required amount, 50.
