Yes...you will have to modify your diet if you are going to lose 60 pounds. Weight training will help you increase your metabolism so that your body will burn more fat, but you will need to consume less so that your body does not accumulate any more.
Here's a general rule of thumb: to lose weight is 80% accomplished in the kitchen and not in the gym.
