I'm Jennifer, 30yr old stay at home mom who lives in Auburn/Opelika area of Alabama. Looking to lose the last of my 100lbs. I've lost nearly 50lbs thus far so I'm nearly halfway there. Looking to meet new friends & get in shape. Today is my very first day on this site so I've been browsing around to see what it's all about. I try to go the gym a few times a week but going alone can get quite depressing for me, but I have no friends in the area (I have some online though...lol).

BIG WELCOME FROM STEVIE! :D

On the topic of going to the gym (bear in mind I'm from Ireland not the US) why don't you look for some classes? Its a brilliant way to start meeting new people who are at your fitness level? Once you know people well enough you can schedule gym days?

Hope this little bit of advice helps :)

That is indeed a great idea! Think anyone would walk up & start talking to me? I'm no go at introducing myself to someone I've never met before. Lol! I'm trying to get better about it though. Thanks for the response hun!

Do one that requires a partner, I suggest a Les Mills class if you can get it over the pond. Then you can really just chat to people while working your butt off. And enjoy it :)
Its not all pain and burn. Much ;)

The gym I go to has 2 Les Mills classes & about to add the Combat class as well. Classes are part of my membership but I haven't quite gathered the courage to join any of them yet. Lol.

You can do it! It's all mental, once you master that your body will follow. Exercise is about pushing boundaries not hiding in them! :D

I should be a Personal Trainer, I'm even motivating myself ;)

I've always been told to break out of my comfort zone by my coach, but I'm comfy in it. Lol! I hate my "people phobia"! :'(
