Well I am so happy to be part of an online community of member who is going after some of the same goals in fitness. I was wonder if the Nutritional planner generates your meals for you because I have no clue how to work this thing. So please help, also do anyone have sample meal plan, which has variety. Thank you and God bless...

Hi jm...no the tracker won't tell you what to eat...look in the nutrition forum and find the post titled healthy foods list....eat lot's of stuff from that list.To lose weight you'll want to eat between 10 and 15 calories per pound of body weight, depending on your activity level.take some time to read through the stickies in the forums...use fitbuddy, and read the FAQ forum...lots of great info to get you started...then as you have questions post away!~!
welcome to FT!:)

Ok Kc as you can see from my profile I am 230 pds with 18% body fat now. I workout in the morning at 5am, I wake up at 4am and eat something before going..... According to my daily calorie intake on this site it said around 3574, 230g of pro and 575g of carbs... On cardio days should I lower that? During the day My work load is pretty much sitting

Hi jm....I know the pictures seem to be taking some time..seems to be 7-10 days...not sure of the problem, you also have to check to make sure they are jpeg format...and under 200 kb....

ok....onto the I am a goof speech....I should have read your profile...hehe...sorry...you're trying to gain weight not lose(gain muscle)....I don't know much in this area...the guys will be able to help you better...you may want to post in the general forum..more people post there..
(and the nutrition numbers here seem to be out of whack,so I wouldn't trust them if you're trying to gain or lose)

OK....hope I'm making sense...Fly is making me nervous..I have a tendency to confuse people:big_smile:

I only got deleted this time because I double posted...I wasn't being rude...I promise!!:)

eeekk...I hate to try and help here and give wrong info...but that doesn't sound right...I'm 150..doing the same as you...losing fat, building muscle(in reality we are building muscle, losing the fat is just a benefit)...I take 202 grams protien...82 gr.carb...so you see there is a big difference...stay away from the planner...find asimmer,or bb1fit...they are both fabulous...see if you can't get them to explain better...I'm going to completely confuse you..then you'll want to quit!!

I would take 1-1.5 grams of protein per lb of body weight, as for carbs not too sure on those.

When I consider the short duration of my life, swallowed up in the eternity before and after, the little space which I fill and even can see, engulfed in the infinite immensity of spaces of which I am ignorant and which know me not, I am frightened and am astonished at being here rather than there; for there is no reason why here rather than there, why now rather than then. Who has put me here? By whose order and direction have this place and time been allotted to me? The eternal silence of these infinite spaces frightens me.

OK, here's my 2 cents...I'm no expert, so take this as my humble advice....

1. You want to loose fat and gain mass. At 18%BF, your not doing too bad. Your priority should be diet. Eat clean (foods from grocery list for healthy eating) and read thru BB1's "Diet Thread" located in the diet and nutrition forum (it's not stickied, but it's not too far down the list) This should help you determine your proper ratios--the ones on FT tend to put the carbs way to high.

2. You don't say exactly what you're currently doing as far as workouts, so its hard to say if you're being effective. Generally if you use the FT programs, you'll be doing wts 3X per week and cardio 2-3X per week. It's best to alternate wt and cardio days, but not imparative. Make sure you're really working your cardio...try HIIT, include a steady state 30-45min cardio in your weekly routines. One word of advice for workout routines is to base them around compound moves: rows, deadlifts, pull ups, lunges, squats, presses etc.

3. Read the many posts on nutrition and exercise, then read some more. Educating yourself on proper nutrition will help you loose wt and gain mass, more than anything else. Many of us post our daily intake and exercise routines on the training logs (which you could also use as a PRO member) and there is a multitude of info on various effective workout routines.

4. No one here can tell you exactly what to eat or set out a meal plan...that's something you can do once you gain all the great information located on this site.

OK, way more than my 2cents....but whatever, I'm not known for keeping things concise:big_smile:

Sorry, forgot to add one more thing....once you get to a point where you're at your desired %BF, shift away from the cardio and focus on heavy wts!

People want to know the EXACT number of carbs they need to eat but it isn't that simple. Eat a certain number of carbs for a little while and see if it starts to do what you want it to do (lose weight, gain weight, etc.). If your body did what you wanted it to do, then you have your magic number of carbs, if it didn't, then change it. Personally, I'd slowly cut the carbs down to closer to 20% or your caloric intake instead of the 40 that you're showing.

I need to lose some weight in my fat fingers and where is that edit button? :) Forget I said anything about percentages as I was reading something in that wasn't there. I've been reading too many of KCs posts. :)

LOL I wasn't trying to be a smart ass (actually I guess I was) - I've been doing an informal survey as to how many women insist on having at least 3 things with each meal. :)
