I am currently 5'5, 102 lbs and Im a 17 year old female. I would really love to gain 15 pounds or more!! But the problem is everyone is telling me ohh just eat eat eat!! but I have no APPETITE! It is really hard getting in 3000 calories or more because I dont have an appetite at all so it makes it really hard for me but I was wondering if anyone knows anything about taking prednisone because My friend was on it and her appetite increased and she gained like 10 pounds!! I was just wondering if anyone can take this med.. or can only certain people can???

You will need to start out small and build an appetite. Why don't you tell us what you currently eat throughout the day? First, clean your diet up by making sure you are getting good proteins, complex carbs, and fats. To create an appetite take what you already eat and calculate how many calories you are taking in through out the day. Divide those calories by 6 and eat that many calories over 6 small meals throughout the day. Then increase your calorie intake by 250-300 calories per day. When you stop gaining weight then you have reached your maintenance and you can either increase the calories more or stay. The important thing is it needs to be healthy proteins/carbs/fats so you do not gain too much fat. You will gain a little.

Katlin, I would avoid prednisolone if you don't have to take it. It does increase appetite, but primarily promotes central (i.e. around the waist/abdomen) fat gain, this is the least healthy place to gain fat.
It also promotes muscle wasting, so the likelihood is that all the weight you gain will be fat.

Try increasing the amount of good fat in your diet as an easy way to increase your calorie intake - examples would be nuts, peanut butter, oily fish(such as tuna, salmon or mackerel), olives etc.
