I injured my shoulder and thus have not been able to do any shoulder, back or chest exercises in over a month! OMG IM GOING THROUGH WITHDRAWLS! Anyway, all i have been doing are preacher curls, pull downs, and some machines for legs. I can't squat because of the weight being placed on my shoulder and I am scared to attempt a deadlift ~My favorites :( Anyway I'm shrinking! My tri's, back, and chest are nowhere near the size that they were a month ago and they are getting soft too. Is there any sort of chest/ tri/etc exercises that I can do without causeing further damage to my shoulder? I feel like over a month of shrinking is enough already!

Somthing that I know i've herd about is posing. Contracting the muscles even with out weight should heelp keep there shape, but unforunally if you can't work them with weights they no longer need the extra muscle, so your body will get rid of it to save engery. But when you get back in the gym it will come back, your muscles never forget. Maybe try a lil range of motion work with light dumbells see if that helps, if it hurts stop everything don't risk hurting your self work, just cause you wanan be big and "look" good in a sleavless shirt. Give your body time, might wanan look into a physical therpist.

First, what was your injury? I had injured my shoulder a while back as well (tore my rotator cuff). I didnt bench for a long time nor did military press. However, i found for my injury the squats had no affect on my shoulder, nor deadlifts. I was able to do all bicep workouts as well as most tricept (tricep pushdown, skull crushers, kick back, dips were iffy...only if the shoulder was feeling ok). and i worked back. as for chest, i found machine butterflies to work pretty well and i gradually worked on push ups. i found a form that didnt hurt my shoulder and worked chest that way as well. then i eventually moved that form to benching (its no special form, just i use a little more tricep in the form...you wouldnt be able to tell if you saw me do it). i'm still weery of dumbell bench and dumbell incline (the primary cause of the tear). but i found i could do most things that were not lateral presses. hope that gives some insight.

its probably your imagination. i think after six months or so you ony lose like 6% of muscle tissue. posing might help. and about the six month thing, i might be wrong, but i remember my strength coach telling me something like that after i broke my leg.:dumbbell:
