Hi, I'm trying to get my p/c/f amount right! I guess it's kind of hard being a lacto vegetarian! I'm getting my amount of protein needed! I'm 130 weight and 5'5 height! I get inleast 130g of protein a day and inleast 1500 calories! Why am I so weak for?
Here is how I eat every day! I'm so weak, I just want to sleep alot and sometimes don't want to get up and sometimes just almost want to fall to the floor!

Breakfast 1orange,1apple & 1 soy protein shake
Lunch 4 egg whites
Snack 2 cups of beans
Supper med. salad-Lettuce,cucumber,g.pepper & 1 froz. peas
Snack 4 egg whites
Before bed 1 soy protein shake

If this isn't enough could some one help me! I don't know what you all mean to eat a little every few hours! To me that is a little! Plus I stay away from complex carbs because my body loves to store it as fat! Trust me, I've tried going back to it 1,000's of times! All I end up doing is looking worse then before! I mean I used only whole grain's like whole oat meal and brown rice and sweet potatoes etc. I wasn't even using anything white, like white bread or crackers, etc! I'm tring to get my diet to 50/20/30 p/c/f can someone help me, because it's really hard being a lacto vegetarian!
I'm also trying not to go too high in calories, but not too low, but low enough to help me loose my extra fat, I want to loose!
Can anybody help please! Thanks for your time! Have a great day!

maybe the reason your feeling so week is casue you are not eating enough....1500 calories a day is not alot...i dont know what your goals are but if u dont have enough energy to get out of bed maybe you should reconsider your lifestyle? maybe you should see a doctor and get some professional advice

Thanks for your advice! I think the same thing, I think I'm not getting enough calories and protein!
Is what I'm going to do, is keep some beans in the kitchen, so all I have to do is heat some up if I'm hungry and weak! I noticed last night around 9:00 I was really weak, tired and very hungry, so I ate some beans and I felt better! So anytime my body's saying it needs some more protein, all I have to do is get some more beans out and eat them!
Thanks again, have a great day!

Just eyeballing your diet that looks more like 1200 cals to me - and you're going to need to add some grains or dairy to complement the beans to get a complete protein. The eggs and soy are complete but w/out adding a complimentary protein you won't be getting the full benefit of the beans - I know you're trying to avoid carbs but you do need carbs otherwise you definitely will feel tired! I'd add some brown rice or oats, or maybe even some quinoa, that would up your cals for the day, add some good carbs, AND compliment the beans to up your protein intake. Good luck to you!

Thanks, Jessica! I guess I'll add some brown rice to my beans when I make them! I do have raw fruits and vegetables through the day though! I have my fruit in the morning and one salad with my lunch and one with my supper! So just the salads not enough carbs! I'm trying to keep my carbs really really low because I've heard ones that keep them very low have lost lots of inches!
Thanks for everything! Have a great day!

Keeping carbs low as in adkins will shed weight. If you are exercising heavily and don't get your carbs, you get tired!!!!!

Mel, if you try to time the carbs you eat around your workouts, that should help you out. If you eat low GI carbs, eat them about an hour prior and hi GI about 30 minutes prior.

Lordxena, what do you mean? Eat low GI carbs 1 hour before I exercise and hi GI 30 minutes before? I exercise on an empty stomach though!
The thing is I exercise in the morning! I feel like if I don't then later I won't want to exercise! This is how I make myself! Right when my alarm goes off! I get up and exercise, plus that's when I have the most energy! Also I have to exercise on an empty stomach or I get sick! Plus through the day is when I have my beans for a protein! Jessica Told me I need grains or dairy to complete my protein with my beans and I don't eat dairy! So I'm adding brown rice with my beans!
I do make sure I have my beans and rice earlier in the day though, since I added rice to my beans! Like for Lunch and my first Snack! And later in the day is when I'll have my egg whites!
Does that sound o.k. Thanks for everyones help, I really appreciate it! Everyones been a big help!
If I'm doing something wrong please tell me!
Thanks again! Have a great day!

Hi Melinda, just wanted to clarify you really don't have to have the grains at the same time as the beans - it should just balance throughout the day. But you may feel more satisfied if you have the beans and rice at the same time.

Thanks! Jessica, I didn't know that! I would rather have beans with my rice though because it would be more filling! Plus I think it would be easier to keep track of it that way! I've done alot of research and read that in order for vegetarians to get complete proteins for each meal they need to have two plant proteins!
Also I've read if I want to build muscle I need more calories and carbs, so now I hope I got my diet right! I do makesure I get most of my carbs by 3:00 p.m. Here is what I'm trying now! 50-60% Carbs, 16-20% Fats, and 1gxbody weight for protein. It says carbs are for energy and protein is for your muscles! And I also heard you either loose weight or you gain muscle and I want to gain muscle and they said in order for you to do that, you have to have more calories, like take your weight times 18! They say you need the calories for building the muscle! I got this of a vegetarian site! So hopefully I'm on the right path now! I will say I feel alot better, got alot more energy and I don't want to overeat anymore, and I'm always satisfied! Plus I could feel my arm muscles tightening up all day today!
One more thing! I'm going to order me a book called The Vegetarian Sports Nutrition Guide! Peak Performance for Everyone from Beginners to Gold Medalists. I looked in the book and it says alot about how to eat through the day on a vegetarian diet when exercising hard and how to keep the vitamins and minerals up and making sure your getting enough carbs, protein and fat for the day, etc.
Well sorry so long, but all of you guys and gals have really helped me and thanks again! I guess when being a raw foodest for so long, it can really scare you from grains and cooked food! I just wanted to tell you all I'm trying to increase my carbs like you all said! I'll tell you all how it goes!
Thanks again! Have a great day!
