I need to add some calories to my diet. The question is, where should I increase them. My diet is as follows: (usually spaced out every 2.5-3 hours)
4-6 egg whites
1/2 cup oatmeal
1 oz berries
3 oz turkey
10 oz canteloupe
3.5 oz salmon
lettuce
3 oz peppers
3 oz broccoli
1/2 cup oatmeal or veggie pasta
3 oz turkey
spinach
3 oz peppers
3 oz green beans
3.5 oz salmon
lettuce
3 oz peppers
3 oz broccoli
I feel like I am eating alot of veggies. Do you think it would be okay for me to add even more vegetables to my salads and maybe some to my egg whites in the monring? Still don't know if that will add enough calories. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

kse - how many calories? You could add 1/2 - 1c brown rice to some of your meals where you just have protein and veggies.

Well, I am 5'7 135 lbs and 15% bf. And I am a pretty active individual. Free Trainers tells me to eat about 2000 calories a day which is really difficult for me and I seem to gain at that intake. I tend to maintain my weight at about 1500-1700 cal a day so I am going to try to stick with that I guess. Can I eat oatmeal instead of the rice? I don't really enjoy alot of carbs other than oatmeal and pasta. Also, is it ok to eat the rice or oatmeal in the evening with my last meal or should I cut it out earlier in the day? Thanks.

I guess I should mention that I am really just looking to maintain my current physique and maybe burn a little fat that is still sticking around.

ksee - didn't we discuss this in the women's forum, though you sadi there you want to get down in bodyfat below 15%, or was that someone else?
yes, you could have oatmeal instead of rice, i know someone who ate oatmeal and chicken breasts for every meal for a long time (it was simple).
How close to bed is your last meal?
You could just have some low-fat cottage cheese before your last meal.

Yes, we did discuss decreasing my body fat% in the women's forum...however, after some consideration, I decided that might not be the healthiest thing for me. My menstral cycle is already screwed up enough. So, I decided that I am happy with the way I look right now and I want to make sure I am properly maintaining that wieght. Every once in a while I just need to be reminded that I need to EAT! LOL
