I really need help with the whole meal part. I went to Wal-Mart and wrote down about 50 foods I would eat. The list consisted of chicken, beff, eggs, milk, fruit juices, cheeses, butters, and other odd and end products. On the list I wrote down the total calories, protein, carbs, fats and servinig size of each item. I am kind of a picky eater when it comes to vegestables. I like any kind of meat. I have already figured out how mnay calories I need to eat at each meal based on a 3000 calorie diet. I am not sure if I have it broken down right for each meal. I have it broken down to: breakfast 25% daily calories, lunch (preworkout) 20% daily calories, Post workout 25% daily calories, Supper 15% daily calories, and snacks between meals as 5% daily calories. I am new to all this so I am not sure if i am breaking it down correctly. I have done all the calculations to figure out how much protein, carbs, and fats I need at each meal, again based on 3000 daily calories and breaking them down into six meals a day. I sat down and attempted to put my diet together and I didnt have trouble finding the amount of grams of protein, carbs and fats, but after adding the calories up I was about 240 calories short. For example, based on 25% of daily calories for breakfast I needed 750 calories, but I only had 510 from the protein, carb, and fat breakdown. Am I doing this completly wrong or just missing something? Anybodys advice would greatly be appreciated! Thanks a lot.
