I didn't want to say "oldtimers" since we are all so young. Most of your know that my hubby is going to be in Iraq for quite some time. I want to send him some protein powder, but he will only have water and a shaker to mix it with. No ice, no blender. Does anyone no of a good tasting one that mixes quickly and smoothly with water? I'm also looking for powdered or dehydrated fruit juices, if you've heard of such a thing. I'm trying to talk him into letting me send him a blender, but for now he doesn't want to mess with it. Small quarters, just a bed and a locker!

Optimum nutrition does well, mixes instantly with just a spoon. Of course, there is my favorite, Muscle Provider by Beverly. The best. You can also go to www.proteincustomizer.com and order by the lb. for very cheap, a ready made blend or your own blend, eggwhite, etc.,(one word here, get flavoring too), and they all mix well with just water and a shaker cup.

For the juice - try emergen-C. It is an effervescent mineral and electrolyte/vitamin C supplement that comes in little individual packets. It comes in a lot of flavors and is light and mixes with water.
I really like the muscle provider, also. Very thick and tasty.
Maybe one of those personal size smoothie blenders that you stick into the cup, do you know what I mean?

I didn't think of those emergen-C paks. They have them in alot of flavors and easy to add to water anywhere. I get them all the time. Good one Asimmer.

Thanks folks, I knew you'd come through. Would I find those at DPS Nutrition? And are they ok to mix with Creatine? And someone suggested Gatorade powder too. What about that?

Nature's Best-ISOPURE...all you need is water and the stuff mixes instantly. It is pure whey protien, not a blend, so its absorbtion is better than most on the market. Without a doubt, this stuff is probably THE BEST TASTING PROTEIN AROUND. A little pricy though but one of the best you'll find and very convenient in your husband's situation...just poor water and shake. Any nutrition store would have it.

For the powdered or dehydrated fruit juices, you might want to check out a mountain climbing supply store. I go to one here (North Face) in Montreal, and they have all kinds of de-hydrated/powdered products.

Thanks guys, I will look into those too. I can't find the Emergen-C. Where do I get it? And still wondering about Gatorade.

At just about any health food store. They are small packets. You can buy them by the box, each is one serving.

Is there a Trader Joe's near you, Victoria? They sell Emergen-C there.
I agree that Optimum Nutrition Whey works well in a shaker bottle. I used to drink the vanilla, but they just came out w/some new flavors too, like banana & chocolate mint.
