Ok, since my body type is that of a typical "hard gainer" I was not seeing the size gains I had hoped, so I decided to try a weight gainer. After doing some internet research and reviewing different products, I decided to try Prolabs N Large 2. I have been using it for approx 1 month now. When I started using it I was 187. In one month I am know at 194. It was nice to see my weight go up but it appears most of the gains have come in a place I'd rather not see the gains such as my stomach. I took measurements before I started the product and it looks as if I gained just short of a 1/4" all around except for the waist which is about a full 1" I have kept my regular training schedule, heavy weight low reps 5 days a week. NO CARDIO.

I take the shake once a day right after my workout which is first thing in the morning. I use it with skim milk. The shake with the milk contains 63 grams of protein,99 grams carbs,5 grams fat,3 grams sat fat and is about 850 calories in total. My total caloric intake for the day including the shake is approx 3900 calories. My diet is pretty healthy- no junk food.

Does anyone have any advice on the above? Are the results I mentioned above typical? Should I have gained more muscle size? Is this fat gain typical? Are these products effective? Any advice with weight gainers would be helpful.

Thanks

Mike

During a mass phase, you should expect to gain some fat...hopefully no more than 2% bodyfat. Any more than that will make it a little more difficult to work off.

If you're happy with your weight gain, then you should begin the cutting phase. Otherwise, continue with your weight gain until you feel you should be cutting.

Good luck!

I am also taking N-Large2 (very tasty) and I was pretty excited to find that I was increasing the weight I was lifting and definitely adding mass. However, like yourself I wasn't too exactly happy with the added fat I gained.

I wish to continue using taking it because of the gains, but do not know much about the 'cutting phase'. What general changes to a your diet would a person do to cut down? Reduce Carbs?
