Hi guys..
Sorry if I'm treading on previously covered ground. I have done a search on previous posts and am I little confused as to how much protein I should be taking in on a daily basis.
I've read in several places that as a general rule I should be consuming 1g of protein per lb of body weight - is this true ? My goal is to gain lean muscle mass if this changes anything...
also should this remain the same for off workout days ?
If you guys could clear this one up for me I would really appreciate it!
Thanks!

yup, 1g per pound of bodyweight is correct espcially if you want to put on lean mass. and yes, continue this for everyday, especially on off days when your body is recovering and needs nutrients.

You can also go as high as 1.5 to 2 grams per pound of body weight.

But don't forget your other nutrients, carbs and fats, without them the proein will do nothing. Just taking in alot of protein will in no way assure muscle growth. The body is very adept at using whatever you give it to complete vital needs. Its goal is survival, not looking good at the beach.
