you should see your doc. You might have something going on with them.

There's no way any of us can assess your knee injury over the net. You need to see a Sports Medicine Doctor, or an Athletic Trainer, or a Sports Physiotherapist to get an answer.

if your in your teen years then it might be severe growing pains, try ibuprofen, its an anti-inflamatory, that you can get over the counter.

the bands you see people wearing under their knees is usually related to shin splints. When it comes to your knee, you don't want to self-diagnose. trust me. Go to your doctor or if you are in high school go see your athletic trainer. They'll be able to better tell you what you need to do as far as braces/wraps go.

Those bands are not for shin splints. They are for patellar tendonitis. Does the front part of your knee hurt or is it internal? In either case you need to see a SPORTS doctor not a regular doctor. A sports doctor will give you more options then just avoiding the things that annoy your knees. Do you do any kind of strength training? You might want to consider finding a really good strength & conditioning professional. Good luck in any case.

Exactly. This is why I never post in the athletic injury & treatment forum. Advice will almost always be based on very sketchy and usually inaccurate information. That whole forum could be condensed into one thread containing one post which contains two sentences, which are;

Go see you sports medicine doctor.

If his opinion sounds highly suspect, get another opinion from another sports medicine doctor.

If your knees haven't already been assesseed by a specialist, it's unlikely that you've used an actual knee brace, since these are big ticket items which need to be custom fitted. Also each type of brace is designed for a specific knee instabiltiy isssue.

I used to have patellar tendonitis, don't ever get rid of it, just kinda can make it better. Just strenghten your knees with squats, leg extension and lunges. Mine still bother me from time to time, but nothing like they used too.
