Hi, I'm Fortyhall & have been doing this 2 weeks. I do a lot of sitting around at work and am trying to exercise more to stop me putting on more weight. I thought I might get inspiration here. Already cycle 3x a week 10 miles & swim once a week & run once a week but incorporating these exercises in as well now. Have desk job & sit around mother-in-laws a lot as she is ill. Would like to lose a stone long term (Currently 139 lbs 5' 5") & be in shape - maybe drop a dress size or 2. Struggle finding time to do these exercises but was thinking of doing them round mother-in-law's house seeing as I'm spending so much time there. I put on weight easily & easily lapse into bad eating habits especially evenings. Lost weight first week but put some back on so need encouragement.
Hello, Fortyhall and welcome to FT! Please don't get overly concerned about gaining weight as when you begin to work out you will gain lean muscle - which weighs more than fat, and is a positive step in the right direction! Fat actually takes up 20% more space in your body per pound than muscle, yet muscle weighs more!
It sounds like you have a lot on your plate - but don't forget you are important, too!! Make yourself a priority! Good luck with attaining your goals!
