I made a great shake today with 1/2 cup each canteloupe, honey dew melon, watermelon...1/2 cup fat free vanilla yogurt, and about a cup of peach iced tea...
stick all the ingredients in the blender for a minute...and a fruity shake with protien from the yogurt.

Anyone else have any shake ideas?

Well I guess my daily shakes aren't as funny as yours:
Half soy milk, half water, ice cubes and vanilla protein powder......
Sometimes I even take it with fish oil..... (o;

I posted this once a long time ago, but here it is again (don't gag... it's actually pretty damn good!)

1 cup of nonfat milk
1 cup of cranberry juice
½ cup of dry instant oatmeal
½ cup of nonfat unflavored yogurt
1 tsp of olive oil
1 tsp of whipping cream
½ cup of nonfat cottage cheese
1 tbsp of unsalted natural peanut butter
4 tsp of malt
½ cup of prepared egg whites, i.e. “egg beaters”
1 tbsp of natural honey
2 scoops of blended protein (i.e. milk and egg)
1 banana
6-10 baby carrots
1-2 other pieces of whole fruit or vegetable, i.e. apple, tomatoes, etc., cut into pieces
Ice

If gaining, I like chocolate protein (2 scoops), 4 tbsp. of heavy cream, 2 tbsp. of natural peanut butter, and a 4 oz. banana, or 6 peach slices, made with skim milk.

My "standard" is pretty easy -
~1 c. skim milk (or less 2% if we're at my bf's house, then there's some water added)
1 scoop vanilla whey protein
small handful of frozen berries (make it cold and add a nice taste too)

I have a little electric mixer that works really well. Gets it a little "frothy" at the top :) - I highly suggest getting one of these. I was using my big blender until my bf got me a hand one - so much easier to clean!

Here's a link to one from Amazon.com -

I got this from a poster on another board, Johnka.

1 cup ice
.5 cup cottage cheese
.5 cup milk or water
1-2 scoops chocolate protein
A dash of splenda

The stuff tastes almost like a frosty from Wendy's. I add a tablespoon of cocoa powder as well to make it a little more chocolatey. I'm experimenting with using a couple tablespoons of the fat free/sugar free Jell-O pudding mixes as flavoring in my shakes as suggested by the same guy I got that last one from. I tried butterscotch with vanilla powder the other day and boy was that good.

Am I the only nut that does this? Vanilla flavor Whey Protein powder and 1 can of diet Coke or Root beer. It tastes like a float! With this particular brand of powder yields 220cals, 40g protein. Good when I'm in a hurry!

I use the same kind of hand mixer that kirby does, and it's great!!

My typical shake is also simple is 1 cup fat free milk, 2 scoops protein, and whatever frozen berries I happen to have in the freezer. Today it's blueberries.

When I was on weight watchers, I used to throw a banana, an apple, orange sections, some milk, ice, vanilla flavoring, and sweetner into a blender and make a smoothie.

Quick to make: banana, vanilla flavored protein powder, milk, egg, grind in blender, tastes like a Dairy Queen shake

Oooooh blueberries, I hadn't thought of that, we always use frozen strawberries with or without a half a banana. I always put about 12 icecubes in mine, and blend. It is more like a slushy than a shake. For my chocolate craving I use choc soy milk and choc protein powder, a little sweetner, ice, blend and voila!

As in a hand powered blender? If so do tell...

frozen fruit(mango, papaya, pineapple from costco),8 oz. light fat-free yogurt, splash of water, juice,or 1%milk, and 2 scoops of pro-rated vanilla protein. throw that in the magic bullet and drink up. The magic bullet is the most convienent blender we've ever owned.
