Welcome, Brittany...

This is a great place for information and support... ensure you check out the nutrition forum for great advice on food and ideas...

I think your diet will help a lot... eat five or six smaller meals a day.... you will have to find the time... not eating enough will make your body store what you do eat and cause you to become overweight...

Take some time to set up a routine and nutritional profile with the tabs at the top and that will steer you in the right direction for exercise and diet. It will give you an idea of how much you need to eat as well. Keep track of what you do eat and make sure you drop any unhealthy foods... print out the Grocery List in the nutrition forum... if it isn't on there, don't eat it.

Finally, use Fit Buddy at the bottom of the page for some research!

I agree that a well-balanced diet is key. I'll give you an example of what I mean. This girl I know is pretty young. Early 20's. She was always pretty thin, and then all of a sudden she started putting on a lot of weight. She asked me some questions since I am now in school for a health related career. So I said I would help with what I could. She had told me that she really didn't eat anything except for like salads. I told her to ask her doctor for his opinion. But I told her that without the proper nutrition especially including a good source of protein that her body would not function right. I am still not sure why, but I found out later that her weight gain issue was due to an iron imbalance. I have no idea why that would cause her to gain so much weight. But I swear to you after she corrected her problem, the weight came off. I hope you find my example helpful. Good luck!
