Try reading my “supplements a summary” post it will give you the basics on how each of the standard supplements work. But in reality no supplements will get you big and ripped, this only comes from hard work.

Right on the button erirvine. Hard work and good diet will get you the look you want. Supplements are just that. They are there to enhance your diet.

If you are not gaining either fat or muscle over a long period you are simply not eating enough. Before my finals at uni I started training almost all day to avoid doing work, I was taking in about 9,000 calories a day (they recommend the average man to take in 2,500 a day) and still losing fat. I now eat twice what anyone else I know dose; I have a regular sized meal only 5-6 times a day, and shed loads of protein and I am naturally a mesomorph endomorph cross! In other words eat more!

You need to know your maintenance calorie limit. When you know this, it becomes a simple matter of mathematics to gain or lose weight. The type of weight you will gain is dependent on your food choices. Start a log, record everything you put in your mouth. After about 3 weeks, you should have a pretty good sketch of your average daily caloric intake. If you are remaining the same, increase it. If you are losing, increase it. If you are gaining, and are happy, then adjust as needed. In the end it all comes down to calorie deficit to lose, calorie abundance to gain. Hope this makes sense. You want to do it logically, and just haphazard eating will not yield the results anyone desires.
