I have not been as forthcoming to introduce myself. I have been following my ft program since before Christmas. Ran into some snaggs with work out time. However have been regular of late. I'm 42 years old, study the martial arts, and have been using the work outs to improve in all areas. This has been such a great program I have recommended it to a few people. Thanks for being here.

Hello starbell. Awesome. I love Martial Arts-hmm, now if only I could get with a program and stick to it. I was in a Taijitsu class for a while but didn't really dedicate myself to it. Could have something to do with my low pain tolerance <smile>. I gave up on it when the instructor started swinging a wooden sword at our feet and hit my toe a couple of times....OUCH>>>Thinking about other less "painful" forms <smile>
I started with FT at the beginning of this month...Was a little shy about posting a new message too....But I'm glad I did....These people seem so nice :-)

The study of Martial Arts is great. I see you have had some experiences that tend to turn people away from training. A suggestion would be to ask the head instructure if approachable, if they have a video of there school and the type of programs they offer. Check out a class before starting, workouts should be benefical but not grueling, good stretching exersices,equipment used to stress a point with a student seems a little scary to me. Example getting hit on the toe. Keep looking.

I'm fairly stubborn. I don't usually let negative experiences stop me for too long :-)
But I do tend to stray away from the immediate source of that negativity<smile>....I'm thinking maybe something easy on the body like Tai Chi for a beginning point..Next priority: finding a pleasant place to learn it <smile>

Welcome starbell, I too share a pashion for the Martial arts I study Shotokan Karate & JuiJitsui. What do you study. I have found working with weights to be a great asset to the Martial Arts training. Good luck in your training

Hi Sempai
Use to study Shotokan Karate way back when, took time off to raise a family. After searching for a good club, I am now studying Shorin Ryu Kobyashi
Agree the weight training really benefits the training. All round routine. Strong body, sound mind.
