Hello all, I am new here and am glad to have found this site. I am not new to weightlifting or exersize, but I am at a point in my life that I need to start over again with my health and fitness. I have recovered from major surgery last year and have since lost all my physical strength and stamina. I lost all of my muscle and and put on 30lbs. I have also developed a drinking problem that was directly related to the painkillers my doctor prescribed to me. I've been off the painkillers for a while now, but am still struggling with the alcohol. I have an addictive personality and find it very hard to let certain things go easily even when I know they are no good for me.
Well I am here today to try to change all of that and am hoping to get some real help and motivation to get back into the game. I want to run and lift weights again with as much pleasure as I had 2 years ago when I was a the height of my fitness pinnacle.
I do try to eat healthy and understand what I need to do to get where I need to go, but I really just need some motivation and support.
Thanks for hearing me out, all. I hope I can get myself back on the right track here....

You've come to the right place.
There are a LOT of amazing people on this site who have oodles of advise and info to offer.
Know that we are all here to support each other through the easy-sailing days as well as the rougher spots.
You can private message people too if you have anything you don't want to ask publicly, but keep in mind if you have a question you're probably not the only one so often it's good to ask in a post. And before posting you can always use "fitBuddy" to search the site for topics.
Congrats on recognizing where you're at and identifying where you want to go from here. That's often the hardest thing to do.
