Hey, Becky. Welcome to FT.
I'm with you on the "easily bored" factor! I'm not sure how you're spending you half hour at the gym but here's my 2-bits!

1 - Sign up for a FT program. The variation of exercised should keep your mind off the clock.

2 - Ensure a good mix of resistance training and cardio. If you want to slim down some, start some light resistance training to build a little muscle. It'll help burn more calories. An no, it won't make you BIGGER unless you're lifting monsterous amounts of weight!

3 - run "Motivation" in the FitBuddy search and see what you get.

4 - set acheivable goals. Not the "in a perfect world my end result will be..." type of goal. Set smaller achievable goals. And congratulate yourself when you achieve a goal.

5 - DON'T GIVE UP!!!

The people on this site are GREAT, and then some. You've come to the right place. Snoop around, ask questions and enjoy!

E.

Hi sexybecs, I'd be watching the clock too if not for my MP3 player:) I really look forward going to the gym or running outside because I get 1 hour of listening to my tunes!! It made all of the difference for me. As far as things to do, try one of the FT programs or sign up for some personal training sessions,it's what I did to get started, it took me about 15 sessions to begin to feel really comfortable, but now I'm in there with the "big boys"

Good Luck and welcome to FT.
