I am new at FT...I'm 40 yrs old and have been face this challenge to lose weight. I weigh about 170lbs and have gain this weight since Jan 09 from 145lbs. I am trying hard not to lose hope but I have been working out three to four times a week vigorously and have been limiting my intake with food, trying to eat vegetables, health bars and drink a lot of water but I have yet to lose at least one pound. Can anyone provide any suggestions for me take to lose at least five pounds to be give a little boost?

Maybe your calories are too low? Maybe they're too high? Try eating around 1700-1900 a day and see what happens.

I suggest not only weighing yourself but also taking measurements. If you're working out and eating right, there may be a slight chance that some of what used to be fat has been replaced by muscle (which weighs more).

Also, if you're taking any medication, you might want to check and see if side effects include weight gain (or difficulty losing weight).

Just a thought, and good luck!
