Hi,
I want to know how many reps i should be doing to lose fat and to put some muscle on. I would think to do low reps to gain mass and the extra muscle would burn more fat and calories. However, I hear that I should be doing high reps and light weight. Can someone explain this to me in detail, just don't tell me I have to tone up. If one cannot spot reduce, wouldn't this be, in essence, what i would be doing? Also, where should my heart rate be for losing fat. One thing I hear is that to keep it between 114 to 132 (i am 30). Then I hear i have to keep it bewtween 75 to 85% of my max. I am royally confused. I will give you a rundown on what I am doing to give people an idea.

I do weights 6 days a week, one muscle group a day
One day off
cardio 75 to 85% of my max heart rate 5 days a week
drinking at least a gallon of water a day
oatmeal or egg substitute for breakfast
one banana or some other fruit sometime in the morning
one protein bar somewhere after the banana
salad for lunch
low carb dinner like one to 1 and a half chicken breast or fish and small portion of complex carb like broccoli
try to be done eating before 6
one to to cheat meals a week, depends.
no bread, white potatoes, white rice

please help )

To lose weight, you want to stick with a moderately lower weight and lots of reps. Sign and for a FT program and it will guide you in the right direction.
