I use optimum 100% natural whey protien. It only has 22g of protien per scoop but that in milk with my regular diet and I usually easily hit 1g of protien per lb of body weight per day. Usually more but I usually only go over about 20g or less. Also this stuff seems to mix really easily (I shake it with a drink shaker but stirring with a spoon works just as well) and seems to taste really good. ALthough I didn't really try any other kind of protiens I just sort of looked around for what other people recommended at the time before I decided to buy Optimum. If you do consider 22g to be enough and want to give it a shot then try to find a supplement store that sells a small 1lb tub of it so you can just see if you like the taste of it at first. Thats what I did.. hope it helps..

Hey,
I'm trying to loose the last bit of fat aswell as tone up. I was recommende to do weight training 3 times a week aswell as cardio 3 times a week! Should I use protein shakes? I weigh 75kg or so and consume about 100g protein a day! The thing is, if i consume protein shakes, wouldnt that add calories and stop fat loss? I currently have soya protein but hardly use it! Should i use whey or is soya fine?
Thanks guy!

I've heard that whey was more absorable by your body right after your workout so I usually have a shake inside of 30 min after my workout. I don't know much about soy protien shakes but here is a clip I found from another site..
"Soy protein isolate ( best form ) is something to consider for fat loss. Soy protein isolate has been shown to help support the bodies natural calorie burning capabilities during low-calorie dieting. It helps prevent the body from slowing your metabolism when you reduce calorie intake. This increase in thyroid activity means more fat loss for you! Also, soy protein isolate contains isoflavones, which have been shown to lower LDL ( bad ) cholesterol levels, protect against cancer and help prevent osteoporosis."

A little piece of advice: Don't go by the serving amount size in order to find your protein, i.e. 25g of protein per serving. Make sure that you find the protein % per serving - take the protein per serving and divide it by the serving amount and multiply by 100. This will give you how much of that serving size is made up of protein. If it goes below 70%, throw it out; it's not worth the money...
