I'm having an exciting time out tonight. But, I'm very nervous and could use a pep talk! My best friend from Highschool (I'm 31) is coming home from England (military) and has planned a girls night out tonight. She has rounded up 7 girls out of our "old gang", most of which I haven't seen since highschool. I guess I'm feeling a little like it's a highschool reiunion or something. Now, all these girls, well I guess women now were my best friends..... back then. But I don't know anything about them now except that most of us are married with kids. What if we dont have anything in common? Ok, ok. I'll be honest. I was 115 lbs in highschool, on the swim team (super good shape), and used to dable in modeling. Well, 2 kids and 12 years of laziness later and here I am. Now, YOU all know that I've been working hard to get in shape, and I have improved a lot. But, I'm still a long way from the 115 rock hard body that I was in HS. I can only hope that they are also a long way from their HS shapes also! ha ha. Needless to say, I'm getting a bit of a self confidence issue going on today, and spent most of the morning going through the closet looking for "skinny clothes", although I now just have a pile of "fat clothes" stacked up on my bed.
Has anyone done something like this before? Last summer a friend of mine I hadn't seen since JUNIOR HIGH came into town, we spent the whole weekend together and it was just like old times. But there will be 8 of us here tonight. I have been very excited, but as the time gets closer, I'm getting kind of nervous. God willing, at least ONE of them will have gained more weight than me! ha ha.

Stop fretting, you'll have a great time! I guarantee you NONE of your friends will look like they did in high school!! Be proud of who you are and pick out an outfit that you think you look good in and makes you feel confident, maybe even buy a new outfit (but only if you have time and if it isn't just going to stress you out more.) I'm sure your friends are feeling exactly the same way. Have fun, I'm sure it will be just like old times:)

Well, just thought that I would share the update from my outing Friday night. There were 8 of us total, and it was the BEST time that I've had in a very long time. I was not the only one to have put on a few pounds either, but honestly, once I saw the girls, and heard their voices our appearances didn't matter at all. We were out until 12:30pm, just sitting and visiting, no alcohol or anything. One of the women takes pole dancing lessons, so that's how we plan to keep in touch. We are all going to get together (except the one from England) at least one class a month for fun. That should be entertaining!
Anyway, thanks for the support Fly. These women are all my soulmates, and it's so wonderful to have them back in my life. :)
