Try strength training with heavier weights. Eat plenty of clean protein. I had the same problem that you have, and it's just gonna take some time to fix. Make sure that you get plenty of clean protein(lean meats) to help the process along.

Cardio helps burn excess fat as well. 40 pounds is amazing :o) Good job!

Keep up your excerise habits! I am only in my twenties, but exercised alot when I was your age(15-16), you will thank yourself in the long run, i promise!!

I've got a question - I have a 10 yr old who is starting to struggle with his weight. He knows he's overweight but I don't want to make him feel worse about himself, but at the same time I'm trying to keep on top of what he eats and limit his amounts. How would you have appreciated someone helping/encouraging/supporting you at that age and the age that you are at now?

I totally understand where you are coming from. I have recently lost 50 lbs but I have been at a stand still since June. So I am here and I joined a gym to make the best of it. Good luck!

I think the best thing for you to do is to start a healthy lifestyle with your son. Try to keep fatty snacks and pop out of the picture. I can speak from experience when I say that kids will find a way to get into things without you even knowing. I had a step daughter that used to get into chips and candy in the middle of the night. I think that kids at that age lack the discipline to take control of their weight issues, and the best way to help them is to lead by example, and limit the sugary and fatty temptations.
