I've recently begun to take hikes and long walks after dinner with my new boyfriend. He lost 70 pounds over the course of three years (was cute before, but looks amazing now) because he is in the military. It's really helped me to have him there to ask me each night to go on a walk. Typically we walk for 30-40 minutes around my neighborhood, but lately we've been going to a mountain near where we live and hiking the mile up in about 30 minutes and then walking back down after a short rest at the top. It's really beautiful to look out at the city from the mountain top and that is almost motivation enough. Lots of people train by running up and down the mountain, and one day that might be me too. I hate running muchless up a hill, but who knows. I'm motivated as ever to keep it up by asking my boyfriend to take me there more frequently. He's the best exercise buddy for me to have. Instead of sittng and getting fat together we get to do something for our health and well being together. It's great. If you live near a place like this, I suggest trying out a romantic after dinner walk.

That is excellent news! What a great form of cardio, my favorite. Mountain hiking is wonderful, I just got back from Colorado Monday. My favorite place in the whole world. I commend you and your boyfreind, what a great way to get healthy and in shape. Keep up the great work and keep us posted!

We hiked again this weekend, more of a walk than a hike, but it was a very hilly. My boyfriend joked that he's training my legs so that I can hike Mount Everest with him one day, although I believe that he is serious. We are going to start running together as soon as I can work up enough stamina to do 3 miles without stopping. I just found myself a training program and plan on taking a month to work up to the 3 miles. I job slowly, but the health benefits will be good for me :)
