ok, so as you've probably already figured out, my name is hannah and i'm 24. i'm what i'd like to call significantly overweight, and i'm trying to change that. diet, exercise, all of it. so far i've just been doing light cardio to get my body used to working out, but starting tomorrow i'm going full tilt (well, just according to my freetrainers.com fitness plan - i don't want to hurt or kill myself or anything). i played some sports when i was younger, and i'm really looking forward to being able to play them again, just for fun and exercise.
hmm...i don't know what to say i guess. in general, i love all sports (but the red sox, celtics and pats are my teams. go boston!) i don't really have too many questions yet...oh wait, i just thought of one...is there a feature on this site that tells me in what weight range i should be in for my height and build? also, what about my heart rate while i'm working out? should i be concerned with it and track it? just wondering. thanks guys!

Hi, Hannah....
Welcome to FT...
The weight range question you have is in regards to Body Mass Index or BMI. There are BMI calculators all over the internet... but, I would just be more concerned with body fat percentage than BMI. For instance, I'm about 6 feet tall and around 180 pounds and am on the high end of what I should be for my BMI.
Target heart rate calculators are all over the internet as well, but lately I've been of the thought that you want to be talking in short spurts.. you know a couple of words at a time... not being able to carry on a conversation without taking some breaths, but not being so winded you can't even utter a word.
