Home gym help

2009/04/22, 03:39 PM
I currently workout at home. I have a treadmill and some light weights. I am looking to make a home gym in a spare room, but don't have a lot of money to spend. Was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on what I would need and what could I go without.

Dumbbells are the most versatile piece of equipment you can own. I'd say an adjustable bench and a set of adjustable dumbbells for starters.

Thanks. I was thinking of buying a bench actually. I just don't know where to look. I have been to a few stores, but I can't find an adjustable one.

And my goals are weight loss and toning. Since joining I've lost 20lbs. But now I would like to tone up and build muscle.

for weight loss and toning you should cardio and a good diet (cutting calories and healthy foods) will work. If you want to gain some strength to, you can get adjustable dumbells like returnofplex said. If you wanted, you can also get i belive a 300 pound weight set(barbell and plates) for like 100-150 dollars. depends on your budget. if you get a squat cage, a barbell and weights, and a bench, you can do any exercise you want plus you can use the pins to spot you.
