Hey All,
I have been trying to put together my diet plan, and while browsing around I came across Jelly (yes, the type you have with icecream at kids parties). It has the following nutrition:

Per 100g
Energy: 315 Kcal
Protein: 63.7g
Carbs: 6.9g
Fat: 0

How can this be? I mean...63 grams of protein per 100...my whey protein shake only has 75 grams per 100...am i missing something here?

Is the jelly a different type of protein or something. I mean, each sachet of this jelly is 12 grams and makes about 1/4 pint of jelly. According to these figures instead of the protein shake I could have about 9 bowls of jelly, I know which id rather have!

I presume the carbs will all be from sugar.

Regards,
A very confused Jez.

What kind of Jelly? Tuna jelly, Chicken jelly, Whey jelly.

It has to be a typo, because pure gelatin powder is 6 grams of protein per tablespoon.

Jelly contains no protein.

Damn...that means if the carbs and protein are swapped ive been eating 60+ grams of carbs in each bowl...of which I guess most are sugars.

Yeah I don't think Jelly has any protein in it. If it does, it's probably not a very good source of protein anyways.
