Well Alexander, there's all sorts of suppliments which will claim increases in metablism, fat burning, etc... the leading one being aphedrine. (which I formerly used myself) But due to health concerns the drug has been completely removed from most suppliments. Maybe some others will have some suggestions for other suppliments. Mind you, I wasn't recomending aphedrine.. more of a warning.
The best way to speed up your metablism is to get some cardio workout my friend. If you get little to no cardio these days, you may be surprised what just a little bit during the week can do for you. Good luck!

Yo Alexander!
Welcome to FT! Did you ever consider looking at your nutrition? What do you eat in an average day? How much? When? Maybe consider eating smaller, healthier meals more frequently (every 3-4 hours or so). Frequent meals will help to speed up your metabolism - just eat the right foods (and smaller quantities). Eating lower glycemic carbohydrates (for example, fibrous veggies rather than sugary or flour-rich carbs) could be beneficial with the cholesterol problem. There are tons of posts here on healthy nutrition plans. And lots of smart people. Take advantage of this resource.
My opinion on metabolism-boosting supplements? At 15, you should be able to boost your metabolism naturally with healthy foods and an active lifestyle. I know the word "supplement" sounds so harmless and benign, but short of daily multivitamin, you just don't need to add chemicals to your body. Let me tell you, I would kill to have the metabolism of a 15 year old. ANY 15 year old! It might be tough Alexander, but then again it just might take a few tweaks of your diet and/or lifestyle. Spend a week or so just searching the archives on this site. Ask your doctor. Talk with your parents or relatives. Then make an informed decision. I have 3 sons, Alexander. One is 15. This is what I hope he would do if he had a similar question.
Has your family doctor given you any suggestions?
Good luck with the metabolism and the cholesterol (and with taking the #1 spot in discus this year).

I take it you want to lose weight, this is a concept that is miss understood the most. Weight training burns calories and cardio burns fat. Weight training builds muscle and muscle burns fat. So, my advice is to have 2 30 min. cardio sessions a day, 5 days a week for 12 weeks. Your daily calorie intake should be around 1400 calories a day. This is not easy to. You have only so much time to exercise if your like most people who work 40 hours a week. What I do is this, I am a full time carpenter, I start work at 7 am. I get up around 4 am to wake up some before I hit the tred

1 gram of fat=9 calories. 1 pound of fat=3500 calories. Unless you are very active on a daily basis you will burn more than just fat with an hour of cardio per day. You will burn something quite nicely as a matter of fact. I'll give you that.
