My fellow liftin' ladies, I have a question for you. I am just wondering how hard everyone lifts, I mean are you breakin a sweat? I am asking because I am thinking of taking a week off now after my 8-week program, but wondering if I am working out hard enough inorder to need one. I follow the FT weight loss/tone program and usuallt sweat a LITTLE and get all red in the face while doing it. So does this mean I'm working out hard enough? Lemme know how you all do it and wether or not you take a week off after your program. I FEEL like I could use a break, but my conscious which motivates me to work out regularly is telling me NOOOO, you cannot not work out for a whole week! Help!

I break a sweat, my nails, and my neck on those days that I have balance issues.

Most of the time, I keep my workouts rather short but intense, so I sweat and turn red in the face. However, when I am on a week of less agressive trainning, I get little other than heavy breathing and light flushing. Either way I figure I am doing some good so I don't worry about it.

Your brain is telling you no...what is your body telling you? I'm not an expert, but I would take your breaks when they are called for if you are following one of the workouts on FT, I figure they have them in there for a reason, right?

It almost sounds like you are questioning the intensity of your workout more than taking the break. Maybe you could tweak your program a bit to make it more intense. The moment my body starts saying "so what?" during a workout, I shake it up a bit to make it harder.

Then I whine about how much it hurts.:laugh:

Good luck!

If you can't do another rep in good form at the end of your set, you are lifting heavy enough.

Sweating can be genetic, can depend on your fitness level and can depend on your carbohydrate intake, hydration levels..many variables.
