I go 4 times a week right now, do each muscle once a week, except abs, i do those every time. Well, sometimes twice, i work out in shcool sometimes for maybe 35 minutes, doing some lighter crap, then heavier stuff at the gym a few days later).
Anyway those 4 times i'm at the gym i spend 1-1.5 hours. How long do you usually spend(if your routine is anything like mine, obviously with a very different routine the times will also be way off)

I think you'll find that the majority of people on here keep it from 45 minutes to an hour unless they're in a heavy leg workout. The power lifters go longer but it's a different style.

The optimal range for workout duration is between 45-60 minutes. That is when GH and Test levels have peaked, and right before cortisol levels start to increase. After an hour, your cortisol levels increase and start to work against you.
I'm a powerlifter, but I would honestly rather do 2 sessions in one day than go over an hour. Most powerlifters keep it under an hour, although some schools train for up to 2.5-3. Metal Militia is one example. The reason our workouts are longer is we take longer between sets, often in excess of 3-5 minutes. However, unless you are training for absolute strength, there is no reason to break the 3 minute mark for rest periods.
-------------- Yes I realize my shins are bleeding. And its called a deadlift. Any other questions???
If you smoke or don’t wear your seatbelt, please don’t tell me the deadlift is dangerous.
