How many calories does one burn in a day just to keep alive? (on average) I've seen many charts explaining what exercise burns how many calories, but nothing on just plain survival. I would just like to get a basis to work from. No one has ever answered that question for me before.
I am a 5'-0" tall 37 year old woman and I weigh 150 with a large frame (6 3/4" wrist)if this information helps. Anyone have any idea? Thanks for the help!

Oh yeah... My nutrition plan recommends 1985 calories a day.

There are a number of places to find out how many calories one needs to consume to maintain their current body weight. Of course this number is just as unique as each individual is. It depends on your lifestyle, for example does your job keep you physically active or just sitting behind a desk all day. I used LifeForm software which gave me a very accurate estimate of daily calorie expenditure after filling out a questionaire as to my day to day routine. It is a shareware program and was very helpful, but I prefer the feedback that I get from the other members at ft and of course the price is right. Good luck. Hope this helps you.
