I just thought it would be interesting to see what everyone does for a living and see if weight training has helped them in any way. I drive cement truck, and have only been lifting for about 3 months and it's amazing how much it has made my job easier already!! I can lift the chutes and climb in and out of truck like i'm on wings lol. Losing the 30 pounds helped a little i'm sure but just in everyday life I notice major changes in how much easier things are. I cant even imagine 1 or 2 years down the road. Please post if you feel like sharing how much you have reaped the rewards.

I sit most of the day at my job. I'm a radio announcer and trust me, there isn't a lot of heavy lifting... so, over the last decade too many donuts and cupcakes caught up with me and I packed it on... so, for the last couple of years I've been weight training and I've dropped about 20 pounds and few percentage points of bodyfat.
So, I don't notice things being too much easier with my job, but in everyday life things have improved much. (Lots in part to FT).
I sometimes drive my wife nuts with all the 'healthy' talk, but she's coming around...:)

Hello,
I am a 113 lb. female. I have a daughter that was born with Spina Bifida, she is paralyzed from the waist down and cannot help when I lift her. She is up to 87 lbs and I really was struggling getting her in and out of the van and lifting her into the bathtub.
Since getting serious about weightlifting I no longer have the difficulties I once did.
Besides I look great:big_smile:

damn..
i used to be a little porker.. always at mcdonalds, eating candy, never watching my diet. then i got involved in weight training, and it changed all that. my diet got healthier, i learned more and more about resistance training, and eventually got into kinesiology at university.

Started wt training a year ago and at 41, I'm in better shape than I was when I was 20 (well maybe 25 after my 1st kid!) I don't have a terribly physical job, but it sure has help in all the other activities I do outside of work...except maybe my golf game, but I'm working on that!

I workout before I go to work and look forward to my workout days, so I'm up early and at the gym. Get about an hour or hour and a quarter of workout in, then shower and go to work. Now I get to work on time...at least 3 days a week.
Oh and not to mention I feel stronger, lighter and better.

Most people's stories I have noticed is about losing weight and how much it helped them, I guess mine is a little bit different. I started when I was 15 years old as far as serious body building. Before I started weightlifting I was a serious drug addict, I was 5 '10, weighed 95lbs, and had I don't know something around a 22 inch waist. Now that I have been lifting for a year and a half or so, I'm 5 '10, 185lbs, and 30 inch waist. It has helped me a lot in everyday life, I don't get tired near as much as I use to.
